This past weekend, I had the opportunity to participate in a virtual goal setting retreat hosted by Janiece Gray of JGray & Associates. It was full of flexible useful information and resources. This retreat was helpful for me as I often find it difficult to quiet my active-self and spend time sorting through my goals on a personal front. I was able to set the time aside, mindfully attend, and enjoy the company of others.
As an Intuitive Life Coach, I am in the business of goal setting. That said, I can also be a bit unconventional in the goal setting process. I am familiar with many processes and am fortunate to have them banked in my mind, ready for use when needed. What I have found though, when it comes to working with clients on their goals, is that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Flexibility in process is key.
This retreat offered me opportunity as well as a reminder, the importance of flexibility in process. The beauty of my experience fell on the intuitive side. I have the tendency to expect too much of myself. As I made my list of goals and tasks, I turned to Tarot for an intuitive take. It helped me to remove the noise, the high expectations, and intuitively plot my path.
What does that look like? After deciding a goal was worth pursuing, I asked Tarot if the goal was intuitively aligned, what challenges I could expect in my pursuit of the goal, and how to overcome those challenges. What this process really did for me was to help me focus. Focus on the root of the goal, the “why” of the goal, and realistically plan next steps in an intuitively informed way.
Looking at your near future or year ahead, what do you want to achieve? How do you want to achieve it? What roadblocks can you expect? Are you ready to adapt as changes or challenges become present?
