CODE OF ETHICS AND STANDARDS

COACHING

Although there are no official legal ethical guidelines for coaches, a professional coach agrees and commits to following the highest standards for ethics and conduct, as agreed upon within the life coaching industry, including and as follows:

SCOPE OF COACHING

Ensure the client has a clear understanding of the difference between life coaching and therapy and life coaching and consulting.
Clearly explain the limitations of coaching in relation to psychological conditions: life coaches are not trained, qualified or able to diagnose or treat any form of mental illness or disorder.
Establish a professional coaching relationship by clearly communicating the role of both the coach and the client.

COACHING AGREEMENT

Sign a coaching service agreement with all clients prior to beginning the coaching relationship. Include the roles, rights, responsibilities and expectations for both parties. Honor this agreement.
Respect the client’s right to terminate the coaching relationship at any point during the process, subject to the provisions of the agreement.
Refrain from coaching minors (for these purposes, people who have not yet had their 19th birthday) without the express written consent of parent, guardian or teacher as appropriate.

INTEGRITY

Accurately and honestly identify your coaching and career qualifications, experience, expertise, training, or certifications.
Recognize and disclose any material used in your coaching practice that you cannot claim ownership of. Violating this standard may leave you subject to legal remedy by a third party.
Honor an equitable coach/client relationship, regardless of the form or amount of compensation.
Make no claims or implications of outcomes that cannot be demonstrated or guaranteed.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

Seek to be conscious of any conflict or potential conflict of interest and openly disclose any such conflict and offer to remove myself when a conflict arises.
Strive at all times to recognize personal issues that may impair, conflict with or interfere with your coaching performance or your professional coaching relationships. Promptly seek the relevant professional assistance and determine the action to be taken, including whether it is appropriate to suspend or terminate your coaching relationship(s) whenever the facts and circumstances necessitate.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Treat all clients and potential clients with absolute dignity, confidentiality and respect as free and equal individuals.
Maintain, store and dispose of any records, including electronic files and communications, created during your coaching engagements in a manner that promotes confidentiality, security and privacy and complies with any applicable laws and agreements.
Obtain written permission from any client or potential client before releasing their names in references or testimonials.
Disclose, upfront, that as a professional coach you are required to report to the authorities should your client disclose or display intent to harm themselves or others.

INTUITIVE READINGS / TAROT READINGS

I will serve the best interests of my clients, conducting my professional activities without causing or intending to cause harm.
I will treat all my clients with respect, regardless of their origin, race, religion, gender, age, or sexual preference.
I will represent honestly my qualifications, including educational credentials, levels of certification and experience.
I will keep confidential the names of clients and all information shared or discussed during readings, unless otherwise requested by the client or required by a court of law.
I will recommend clients consult a licensed professional for advice of a legal, financial, medical, or psychological nature.
I will respect my clients’ right to refuse or terminate their reading at any time, regardless of prior consent.

Additionally…

I will be honest and tell the truth, with compassion.
I will leave my judgements and opinions at the door.
I will encourage the client to use their own inner guidance.
I will not tell the client what to do. I will coach.

Furthermore…

I will refrain from coaching minors (for these purposes, people who have not yet had their 19th birthday) without the express written consent of parent, guardian or teacher as appropriate.
I will refrain from conducting readings that are legal, financial, or medical in nature.
I will refrain from conducting readings expressly about third-parties.
I will refrain from interpreting readings that were not performed by myself from beginning to end.
The client has free will. All readings are intended to empower the client with information that they can contemplate and determine the appropriateness of for themselves.

Angela McKay LLC may refuse a request for a tarot reading. Angela McKay LLC has the right to terminate a reading at any time if a client’s comments and/or behavior are deemed by Angela McKay LLC to be inappropriate, abusive, or threatening.

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Person receiving services acknowledges and agrees that they are fully responsible for their physical mental and emotional well-being during the services and are fully responsible for any actions, choices, and decisions made as a result of the services. Person waives and releases any claims arising or resulting from questions and discussion, and from actions, choices, and decisions made by themselves, and their friends or family. This applies to conduct or actions outside the scope of the services that may be deemed a result of the services. Activities that take place both for Person and Angela McKay LLC are the sole responsibility of the respective parties. Angela McKay LLC cannot guarantee results. Person will be the creator of the results as they have the courage and determination to move forward with intentional action in life.

RELEASE OF INFORMATION

Angela McKay LLC engages in training and continuing education pursuing and/or maintaining ICF (International Coach Federation) Credentials. That process requires the names and contact information of all Persons being coached for possible verification by ICF. By engaging in services, Person agrees to have their name, contact information and start and end dates of coaching shared with ICF staff members and/or other parties involved in this process for the sole and necessary purpose of verifying the coaching relationship, no personal notes will be shared.

PRIVACY POLICY

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Agreement between User and https://www.angelamckayllc.com. The https://www.angelamckayllc.com website (the “Site”) is comprised of various web pages operated by Angela McKay LLC. Site is offered to you conditioned on your acceptance without modification to the terms, conditions, and notices contained herein (the “Terms”). Your use of Site constitutes your agreement to all such Terms. Please read these terms carefully, and keep a copy of them for your reference.

Site is a Professional Services site mainly used to inform of the services offered by Angela McKay LLC.

Privacy

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Life Coaching session packages entered into via an Agreement are prepaid. If Client fails to pay the invoice by the first session, the Coach has the option of cancelling until the fee has been paid or terminating the Agreement. Because of the time, scope and nature of the work, the coaching policy is that the initial term is the package agreed to in the Agreement. After the initial term, the Client may cancel at any time. Cancellation must be in writing (letter or e-mail accepted). In the event of fees owed at the time of cancellation, full payment is due. No refunds will be issued.

One-session coaching arrangements are prepaid. No refunds will be issued after the first communication from Angela McKay LLC.

Regarding Tarot readings, no refunds will be issued after the intake process has been completed and/or the reading/reading file has been completed/delivered.

Links to Third Party Sites/Third Party Services

Site may contain links to other websites (“Linked Sites”). The Linked Sites are not under the control of Angela McKay LLC and Angela McKay LLC is not responsible for the contents of any Linked Site, including without limitation any link contained in a Linked Site, or any changes or updates to a Linked Site. Angela McKay LLC is providing these link to you only as a convenience, and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by Angela McKay LLC of the site or any association with its operators.

Certain services made available via Site are delivered by third party sites and organizations. In the event the parties are not able to resolve any dispute between them arising out of or concerning these Terms and Conditions, or any provisions hereof, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise at law or in equity for damages or any other relief, then such dispute shall be resolved only by final and binding arbitration pursuant to the Federal Arbitration Act, conducted by a single neutral arbitrator and administered by the American Arbitration Association, or a similar arbitration service selected by the parties, in a location mutually agreed upon by the parties. The arbitrator’s award shall be final, and judgment may be entered upon it in any court having jurisdiction. In the event that any legal or equitable action, proceeding or arbitration arises out of or concerns these Terms and Conditions, the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover its costs and reasonable attorney’s fees. The parties agree to arbitrate all disputes and claims in regards to these Terms and Conditions or any disputes arising as a result of these Terms and Conditions, whether directly or indirectly, including Tort claims that are a result of these Terms and Conditions. The parties agree that the Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this provision. The entire dispute, including the scope and enforceability of this arbitration provision shall be determined by the Arbitrator. This arbitration provision shall survive the termination of these Terms and Conditions.
