A mantra is a word, phrase, or sound you can use in meditation or throughout your day to achieve a state of mind. Today, I’m choosing to discuss a mantra that is connected to your Root chakra. The mantra of the Root chakra is “I am.” And, here we’ll discuss, “I am safe.”
Often we let anxiety, fear, disillusionment, or panic get the best of us. These feelings can generate from your Root chakra, signifying an imbalance or blockage and a need to center, or ground, yourself. There are many forms of grounding, do a quick search and you’ll find them. (Oh, and there are great short guided grounding mediations on YouTube!)
The mantra “I am safe” is intended to pull you from your anxious state and back to center. It is to remind you that you are not in any present danger and send signals to your mind and body that there is no need to enter a panic mode. In an anxious state, choose to:
2. Take a deep breath, in through your nose, out through your mouth
3. Acknowledge what surrounds you (what you can see, hear, smell, touch)
4. And say the mantra, “I am safe.”
This will bring you into your present moment where much of your worry doesn’t actually exist. It will help you to be mindful of where you are and that you are, in fact, safe. You are okay.
