Five Days to a Calmer You: Day Four
--In this week-long series, “Five Days to a Calmer You,” I’m talking routine. Simple practices that you can consider adding to your daily self-care routine. Ways to find your center and strengthen your stress baseline.
Stress will come and go. A routine will help you to maintain a healthier and more resilient version of you so that when stress happens, you don’t swing as high in those stressful states.
A self-care routine can help to create a healthier stress baseline; engaging in activities for optimal whole health; mind, body, and spirit.--

Day Four: Movement
Move your body. I won’t use this article to recommend that you do it in a specific way. I’ll leave that to you, to determine what works best for you in your life right now. However, day four, I bring to you the idea of adding movement. As part of your healthy stress baseline routine to a calmer you, move.
Okay, so why is this so important? More than the typical benefits you hear of and read about, I’m coming at this from an energy angle. Your body stores energy, think “vibes.” And, when unmoved or restricted, this energy becomes stale. And potentially negative. Moving your body helps you to disperse that pent up staleness and clear the way for high-vibe positive energy to take its place.
Your body conveys a lot of clues about your physical, mental, and spiritual health. Tune into what it’s telling you, listen to your body. There are many ideas for movement and incorporating it into your routine, here are just a few…
Ideas for movement:
Weightlifting
Walking
Running
HIIT
Yoga
Stretching
Dancing
Ideas for incorporating movement into a simple routine:
Exercise (any form of exercise)
Morning or evening stretches
Mobility videos
Standing each hour to move around
Taking a short walk during lunch or while on a break
Taking a call while walking (or, if you’re like me, pacing LOL)
Dance to a single song
Take the stairs
Simply stand and shake about for a moment
Park farther away
…and so much more! This movement helps you to stay in tune with your body and to disperse the negative energy. You can start small, ensuring that you implement something sustainable. Remember, any movement for this purpose is positive movement.
I’d love to hear how you implement movement into your day. 💛 And, if you haven't already, be sure to check out Day One, Day Two, and Day Three!
Take care,
Angela
